Enjoy a full day in some of Portugal’s most charming small towns, including a tour of the religious site of Fátima. Take advantage of undivided attention from a private guide throughout the day.
Travel first to Fátima, the town where three small children saw an apparition of the Virgin Mary in 1917. See the former home of Lucia, Jacinta, and Francisco, the three children, and tour the chapel where the sighting occurred. Visit Our Lady of Fátima Sanctuary (Nossa Senhora de Fátima Santuario), a place of worship visited each year by more than four million people who travel to pay their respects and worship at the shrine. There is also the opportunity to see the tombstones of two of the children.
After Fátima, continue through the countryside to see more of Portugal’s charming small towns. In Batalha, admire the monastery and its amazing Gothic architecture. Visit the old fishing village of Nazaré and the beach area and headlands of Belvedere. Finish in medieval-style in Óbidos before returning to Lisbon at the end of the day.
